Redistricting Informational Meeting HB200. Common Cause is sponsoring a People's Hearing at the state capitol on Monday, June 5 from 4-6 PM on HB200 which would create a nonpartisan redistricting commission.

July BEAT Meeting. We are happy to announce that BEAT has a date for our rescheduled press conference / rally against offshore drilling and seismic testing. Arrangements with the town of Sunset Beach have been contracted and speakers have been confirmed.

The rally will begin at 10:00 am on Monday, July 17 at the Sunset Beach Town Park. We have a rain date of Tuesday, July 18. State Representative Deb Butler and Dr. Kyle Horton will be our featured speakers. Other speakers will include Randy Sturgill of Oceana, the Mayor of Sunset Beach, a representative from the Sierra Club, and Brunswick County Commissioner Forte.

Please join us on July 17 to take part in this very important event that matters greatly to the environment of Brunswick County.
